– It is less likely that the post of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will be given to the same society
New delhi date. Wednesday, September 15, 2021
The cabinet was expected to be formed on Wednesday after the swearing in of new Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, but the schedule was changed at the last minute and the swearing in of the new ministers is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday. However, at present the issue is confusing. In fact there are patches to take on new faces. Earlier, the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers was scheduled to take place on Wednesday afternoon but it has now been postponed. It is learned that Bhupendra Patel wants a change in the entire cabinet which has led to internal strife.
Posters affixed at the Raj Bhavan have also been removed as the swearing-in ceremony was postponed. Posters dated 15 outside Raj Bhavan have been removed as the program has been changed at the last minute. Wednesday afternoon at C.R. Patil’s bungalow was overcrowded with MLAs and a series of meetings began in Gandhinagar. According to a report, Bhupendra Patel’s government could include 24 ministers with 6-6 MLAs from all the dioceses.
According to BJP sources, 90 per cent of the ministers will be removed. There will be only one or two ministers who will be reinstated. Tensions have spread in Gujarat BJP over this. It is learned that Ishwar Patel, Ishwar Parmar, Bachu Khabad, Vasan Ahir, Yogesh Patel and others reached the residence of former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and held their meeting there. It is believed that the MLAs, annoyed at not being made ministers, reached out to meet him.
New faces will be given priority in the new cabinet of the Bhupendra Patel government and the number of women may also increase. Teva will also see the removal of several old and veteran leaders from the cabinet. The strategy is to give a special place in the cabinet to the leaders who have a clean image along with the gender equation.
After the resignation of Vijay Rupani, the political future of veteran BJP leaders Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, RC Faldu and Kaushik Patel is also being questioned. In the Rupani government, Nitin Patel was the Finance Minister along with the Deputy Chief Minister while Bhupendrasinh Chudasama was the Education Minister. RC Faldu is the Agriculture Minister and Kaushik Patel is the Revenue Minister. These four are the old faces of Gujarat BJP. With Bhupendra Patel becoming the Chief Minister, Nitin Patel’s chair is in jeopardy as both of them belong to the Patidar community. It is unlikely that the post of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will be given to the same community.
